Current Obsession: Indian Bridal Jewelry

7 Comments 13 February 2009

Fueled by a newfound desire for dramatic necklaces (I’m usually an earring gal) and a late-night viewing of Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (it’s not what you think), I am now obsessed with traditional Indian bridal jewelry.

As a result, I’ve spent many hours Googling and ogling (is it a coincidence that those words are so similar?) Kundan jewelry, mangalsutra, tikka, jhoomar, and all sorts of beautiful things I want to drape myself in for no apparent reason.

What have you been inspired by recently? Anything you can’t stop thinking about?

i was basically thinking of learning to tie a sari online and buying ridiculous earrings for my w-day look. along with the “tulle tornado” of a headpiece ( :

There are some fantastic bangles on that site. Who knew they could be sized?

    Love the idea of sari/saree…

  5. I love the hand ring/bracelet combos. The jewelry, saris and fabrics are just breathtaking! If I were to ever get married I would love to have an Indian wedding, though I’m clearly not Indian…

I Really Love Reading Your Blog. Excellent. Keep up the great work!
