I found this skirt on a thrifting venture a few years ago and was immediately drawn to the gilded paisley print and lacy trim. I imagined wearing it in Moscow, standing in front of Saint Basil’s Cathedral, exhaling puffs of cold air, swathed in a exotic furry hat and muff. Since that particular vision has not yet come to fruition, I figured I’d better think of some other way to wear it.

Pairing it with neutrals and muted shades works, and adding a blazer makes it a bit more work-appropriate. Inspired by this guy (is he fab or what?), I also added a peacock feather on the lapel of the blazer for interest. Our CEO told me I looked like I’d been in a fight with a peacock. I told him I had. And I’d won. Cardigan, The Limited; blazer, Express; belt, skirt, and clutch, vintage; heels, Steven; bracelet, craft market. |

You look so elegant and chic in this outfit! I absolutely love it!
hehehe – love it all!
Great look! I’d be so afraid to wear a skirt that long (stumpy legs and all). It looks beautiful here.
Thanks, Workchic! I’m always amused when I come across “duplicates” while thrift shopping…
really lovin’ this look!
It may just be the way you styled it, but I think that is the purchase from a thrift store I have seen. Would look fabulous in the office, with or without the blazer; depending on the office environment of’course.
Perfectly styled right down to the bracelet!
Great outfit, especially the skirt !
You’re not alone! Almost all of my outfits come with a storyline, a set, cast of characters, lighting design…
