Ooh, that skirt sounds gorgeous Christen! I have an ankle-length full skirt that I like to wear with:
A fitted black turtleneck and wide belt, or
A basic tank and cropped blazer, or
A slouchy off-the-shoulder tee and chunky necklace.

Depending on the season, I wear either knee-high boots or platform heels. The key is to define your waist–either with a belt or some sort of scarf.

I’m loving how you “made it work.” I totally agree about breaking up pieces of an outdated (or vintage) suit. I recently did it with a suede suit my mom gave me and it totally made it look modern.

I have a full, floor-length crushed black velvet skirt from the 80s. Still a little lost as to how to wear it. So, if you have any genius ideas, let me know!
