Modest Me

9 Comments 11 October 2010

Despite the summerific 80+ degree weather (why wasn’t it like this when I wanted to have Slip ‘n Slide birthday parties back in elementary school?), I was feeling modest and turned to my favorite color scheme for inspiration.

A loose cotton cardigan and high-waisted Hammer pants are cool and breezy, but still covered up. A luxe belt, a touch of lipstick, and my new favorite almost-retro hairstyle add a touch of sophistication to the overall slouchiness of the look.

Limited sweater, ASOS trousers, Gucci belt, Sigerson Morrison boots, vintage purse.

After running around in those darn ankle boots all day, my left foot felt like it was frozen in high heel position. Think Barbie foot.  Is this really what getting older is all about? Your feet arbitrarily take on the characteristics of modeled plastic toys?

Somebody, please tell me it gets better!
