Leftover sequins

I know all the razzle-dazzle of the holiday season is over, but the gold sequins were calling me! Who am I to say no?

Vintage vest, top, and shoes; thrifted pants and shirt, Marc Jacobs bag

I think the secret to dressing down the over-the-top-ness of sequins and fur is to pair them with extremely casual workwear like olive khakis and an old military shirt. Otherwise, you run the risk of looking like you were attacked by Bob Mackie’s Bedazzler.

Would you wear sequins in the daytime?

Being attacked by Bob Mackie’s bedazzler doesn’t sound so bad… I mean look how Cher turned out.

@Fajr I’m convinced Cher is some sort of alien life form. The way she wore Mackie’s stuff–barely covered yet always classy–is wayyy out of reach for people like moi!

@Marie Aww, not even when you were little and pretending to be a ballerina/superhero/princess? Sequins always make me feel kind of like a little girl!

THANK you once again for a post that is outside the box. This look certainly means I can wear my black sequined sweater I saved for NYE’s service but didn’t get to wear to church. Off to find some black slacks to make it work for work =)

@Kerissa Ooh, do it! I have a black sequined cardigan that I wore to the office with a black velvet pencil skirt and heels–it was sparkly, but in a subtle way.

I heart this outfit to the max. All of the neutral tones and just a pop of pazazz makes this fit a definite winter day or evening.
