The Red Skirt Diaries

I’m still working on adding color to my wardrobe, and right now I seem to be obsessed with bright bottoms like this red skirt and those green jeans. I’m pretty proud of myself for (mostly) sticking to my palette!

H&M sweater; Forever21 skirt & earrings; Jessica Simpson Boots; eight sixty striped top. Who says I’m not a mallrat?

Sometimes I have to laugh at myself, because anyone who’s ever taken self-portraits in public knows it can be embarrassing, empowering, and downright amusing all at the same time. Props to my fellow bloggers who have the cojones to hit the streets with nothing but a tripod and a dream.

Speaking of a dream, the Cincinnati Boutique Sale starts tomorrow! I bought what turned out to be my go-to summer shoes for, like, ten bucks at last year’s sale, so I can’t wait to see what I can’t live without this time around!

Thanks! I love that sweater, but layering is a necessity because it’s so friggin’ sheer.

I have that exact skirt. It is probably one of my all time best Forever 21 finds. I bought it to wear with stripes too but I don’t think I ever would have come up with layering the way you have here. The boots are a great finishing touch.

Neat! I thought the skirt was surprisingly thick (for F21, anyway) and stretchy, and I loved the color. It just seems right with stripes, no?

I am working on adding color to my closet also. I bought a similar red skirt on eBay. I’ve been looking through my closet to see what I could pair it with. This is a great inspiration. Thank you.

You’re welcome! I think we should officially declare red a neutral and wear it with whatever we want!

Thanks! I usually tend to avoid Forever21, but it was a good buy.
