When you find the right dress, it’s meant to be. I tried on this Karlie dress at a Thread x Pretty Pony Boutique event a year ago and loved it, but wasn’t really sure I had an occasion to wear it. Flash forward to the Dressing Downton event at the Taft Museum, where Pretty Pony had a booth. Owner Cassie Kathman recognized me and remembered the dress, noting that she still had one in my size and would I like them to send it to me?

Um, YES please.

It arrived in adorable packaging with a sweet note from Cassie, and as soon as the temperature cooperated I shrugged it on with black ankle boots and a bright bag and made my way to the nearest wine festival. Turns out finding an occasion wasn’t so hard after all…
