Bye-Bye, Beau Bear

How adorable are his little kitty elbows? I’m sad to say I’ve lost another furry friend: my cat Beauregard died this week. If you follow me on social media you may already know this, but I thought a tribute post here would be appropriate--after all, this is where I introduced Beau when I first adopted him. I still get a little teary-eyed when I think about him, but I think I’m past the Ugly Cry stage and

Work // Cincinnati Magazine April 2014

The April issue of Cincinnati Magazine is on newsstands, and I have to say: putting this one together made me feel like a big kid. With several kid-focused location shoots, a playful studio shoot, and a toy-themed Necessities page, I spent a LOT of time in toy stores and several late nights putting together adorably tiny outfits. Dressing kindergarteners is surprisingly fun! 1.  Feeding time at the Newport Aquarium // 2. Pinkies up for a tea

Current Obsession // Over-the-Knee Boots

Every now and then I feel the urge to dress like an '80s hooker, and there's nothing like a good over-the-knee boot to get that Pretty Woman look juuuust right. I got this Guess pair on sale after eyeing them for months--the gold detail on the sole and leather/suede combination (plus the half-off sale price!) sealed the deal for me. Plus, they're a good investment: over-the-knee boots were all over the Fall runways: Top: Cynthia Rowley,

Muse-ings // Sassy Keys and A Dose of Gold

1. A sassy key that truly expresses the way I feel when I lose my keys // 2. Finally got around to seeing American Hustle and am now actively stalking Ms. Ross’ Studio 54 style // 3.  Loose layers with a heavy dose of gold feels just right // 4. I will let this relatively small yet spa-like bathroom serve as inspiration for a thorough cleaning this weekend. Wish me luck! Follow me on Tumblr and

Fashion Week(s) // Fall 2014 Faves

Fashion Month roared in like a lion and out like a lamb wearing Chanel sneaker boots. Fall 2014 was a continuation of last season’s trends (abstract colorblocking, worldly prints, etc.) combined with an abundance of luxurious coats and buttery leather thigh high boots. Just for kicks, here's a highly edited selection of favorites: NEW YORK Prabal Gurung’s drapey layers and muted tones; Slouchy windowpane prints at 3.1 Phillip Lim, Juan Carlos Obando does American Hustle; Insouciant wallpaper

Photo Diary // Flaming Donuts and Fruit Trees

I know I’ve been MIA (thanks to loooong hours at work and an evil sinus infection), but I’ve been around! Here’s what I’ve been up to: Scarfing down flaming donuts (YUM) with sugar-glazed abandon; Marvelling at the fact that there are places where fruit is growing on trees (with leaves on them!)  in February; Watching feeding time with the fishies at the Newport Aquarium; Lusting after the Manolos I pulled for a photo shoot #WantneedmusthavetoobrokeAARGH; Takin’

Current Obsession // In the Grays

My love of neutrals has been pretty well documented, especially when it comes to my favorite: gray. That perfect, goes with everything, not-too-dark-but-not-too-light color that’s not really a color. I was digging through my closet when I realized that I currently own 5 gray sweaters (I ONLY want to wear sweaters lately thanks to this horrible PolarBearVortexRollercoaster weather) in varying shades and weights, and I'm not the only one: Images via Lori Stuckman, weheartit, Golestaneh street
