Design tip:Make the page smaller

Sometimes you have to design a document around a minimal amount of text--this is often the case with announcements, lists, and those extra boring (and seemingly unnecessary) reports most employers require. Most of the time, the first instinct is to try to make the content fit the page by enlarging the text, quadruple-spacing the lines, or (god forbid) adding little pieces of clip art. Please don't do this! I will hunt you down

How to: Wear sweats to work

Sometimes it's all I can do to drag myself out of bed, let alone get into corporate power-bitch mode. I've been a proponent of the "dressy sweats" trend for a while, and even though I usually work from home now, this trick still comes in handy when I have to look halfway decent but don't feel like getting dressed up. Gray days

We met up with the two other couples on the

10 days ago, I left for a trip to the Philippines thinking I could use my phone's handy-dandy WordPress app to blog from anywhere in the world! WRONG. It turns out that developing island provinces are NOT flush with wi-fi hotspots. Who knew? Anywho, I'm back now! I'll post some pictures when I'm able to stay awake for more than 5 minutes at a time, but I did want to point out this miraculous feat

Indie Newsstand: Pure & Papercut

I'm a big fan of independent publications, so when I come across magazines I enjoy, I like to share! Right now, I'm reading Pure and Papercut. Pure is created in Portugal and available online (free, baby!) as a downloadable PDF. Fine, I don't actually read it since my knowledge of Portuguese is limited to Teena Marie songs (RIP Lady Tee), but it's fun to look at the pictures and see what they're up to on
