Shopping // Sales Galore!

While I’m technically focusing on making the most of what’s already in my closet, the sales going on right now are just too good to ignore. I figure indulging in a bit of discounted post-holiday shopping actually SAVES money (just go with me on this one) and helps support local businesses. A few of my favorite opportunities for retail therapy: Sloane Deep Sale – 50% -80% off seasonal merchandise. Be sure to check out the...

Shop Around // Hi-Bred

One of the shops I frequent when I’m scouting for work or hunting for vintage for my own collection is Hi-Bred in Walnut Hills. Owner Shawna Maria Guip (remember we profiled for the September issue of Cincinnati Magazine?) has filled her shop to the brim with vintage and secondhand clothes, accessories, and home goods, all apparently selected to trigger my Things I Must Have sensors. There’s plenty of manly menswear and cute things for home...

Cincinnati Fashion Week Fall Fabulous!

And so it begins again… Cincinnati Fashion Week kicks off today with the Fall Fabulous event at Macy’s Kenwood! Walk the Cincinnati Fashion Week red carpet and talk trends with style bloggers (including me!) in the blogger’s lounge. There’s also a fall fashion presentation featuring style challenges for fall’s 2012 top trends, and then there’s the clincher:  25% off select merchandise in the womenswear and women’s Impulse departments, PLUS Macy’s is giving away a free...

I’ve been working a lot and would gladly give my left pinkie toe to spend a few nights in a luxury hotel suite; Finally, a coffee cup coozie that makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something; I always enjoy a well done riff on menswear; Loving the swashes on this otherwise simple type; Airborne chocolate and macarons are surely the next step beyond traditional swirling chocolate; This is how we do yoga in the Souf....

Pitti Me

I just realized how weird it is that I never pay attention to the menswear collections, when it’s well documented just how much I love menswear. That’s gotta change, no?   The tailoring makes for an easy crossover, and most of the styling can be applied to women’s RTW–blazers, vests, trousers, and sweaters are all things most women wear anyway. Trade flat shoes for a platform heel or high-heeled brogue, add a sparkly piece...
