This past weekend, The Boy and I braved the heat and humidity and hung out at the Over-the-Rhine/Gateway Celebration.

Remember when I was desperately looking to buy black sandal-booties and then wound up getting the gray "ugly-but-cool" shoes instead?
Well, I soon realized that I still needed black shoes. I love the gray booties, and while my favorite shade is holding down about 60% of my current wardrobe, there's nothing like a black shoe to really ground a look and toughen things up a bit. Soooo
The major designer's 2010 Cruise Collections made their rounds last week. Cruise collections (also called resort) are pre-season lines designed for the time between January-March when well-heeled wealthy folks traditionally went on luxurious cruises to tropical locales--the better to avoid the bitter cold, my dear.
As I am obviously not one of those trust-funded types, my reason for following the cruise collections is a bit different and clearly self-serving: designers are showing clothes meant for warmer
This gorgeous dress was given to me by a former co-worker who understood my love for vintage. Apparently, she wore it in her heyday in the 80's, which seems entirely appropriate given the cut and draping. It reminds me of the amazing fashions worn on Dynasty--I feel like I should be battling it out with another shoulder pad-clad rich bitch in front of the Carrington mansion!
