Fashion Week(s)

shownuffotr

Ahhh…it is once again that time of year.

The smell of hastily pinned designer clothing and overpriced five-inch high heels is in the air. Giraffe-like 19 year olds with glowing skin and perfect hair run amok in some of the biggest cities in the world.  Stylephiles unlucky enough to live in places like Ohio obsessively check style.com for the latest updates from their favorite designers.

Yes, dear friends, it’s Fashion Week(s).

New York Fashion Week kicked off this past weekend, and the rest (London, Milan, Paris) will follow in their usual predictably unpredictable style. I’ll be keeping a close eye on the runways (well, as close as I can get via the intergoogle) and will report on my favorites whenever the heck I feel like it, probably each Friday.

Before I sign off, it would be remiss of me to take credit for the brilliant/completely ‘hood title of this series of posts: Show ‘Nuff.  No, I must give credit where credit is due, and acknowledge the classic feel-good film of the ’80’s that inspired me:

The Last Dragon (1985). Let me just say up front that I thought Leroy was foine, and I wanted to be Vanity so badly. If you haven’t seen it, click the image to watch the trailer and get thee over to Netflix immediately to make it first in your queue.
