Trend: Maxi Dressing
This street style photo caught my eye–I love the Laura Ingalls-meets-dominatrix mashup of sweet maxi dress + sky-high stripper heels. I noticed quite a few romantic-ish maxi dresses on the Fall 2013 runways as well:
Top: Zuhair Murad, Kenzo, Givenchy Bottom: Mara Hoffman, Giles, Preen
You could easily come up with your own interpretation of this look for Spring–because really, who wants to wait ‘til Fall? I found a sweet floral frock and red tank dress at Sloane; and you could just as easily raid the racks of your local thrift shop or vintage store for a ‘70s Gunne-Sax/’90s grunge number. And ridiculously high platforms are everywhere, so finding sexy shoes is not a problem.

I’m getting all excited just thinking about traipsing down the street in a prairie dress and killer heels, maybe with a trilby or a beret jauntily tipped to the side… Now will somebody please tell this Mother Nature chick to cut out all the snow and bring on the Spring already?

March 7, 2013 at 12:05 pmI love maxi dresses. I just wish I knew a dressmaker that could make the ones I see in my head. If only sewing one myself was easier.

I really love that first one and how the shoes really make the look special. A great pair of shoes can change everything!
I recently stumbled across RogansShoes.com and found that they have some really great shoes at fair prices. Plus, they’re having a sale of 20% off womens shoes. Check it out!
