Rebranded!
Well. That took longer than I expected. I foolishly thought I’d be able to get the redesign done in a weekend, but cascading style sheets got jokes! Big props to web designers and developers–the coding process is tedious and requires serious attention to detail. No wonder the healthcare.gov website is screwy.
Either way, The Style Sample finally has a new look! I wanted to simplify a bit, and I like a lot of whitespace and contrast so I chose a black and white theme with typographic elements. The script in the new logo is actually my handwriting (no handwriting analysis please, no good can come of it), and it’s filled with one of my favorite images from the Hubble Telescope. I would so be an astrophysicist if I was smart enough, plus I like to think life’s opportunities are as vast as our ever-expanding universe. A girl can dream, right?
I also added a Work page for my portfolio (I’ll be adding to this pretty often!), refreshed the About page, and included a slider with some of my favorite posts at the bottom of each page. It was really fun going through all 576(!) posts and reminiscing as I picked my favorites–I remember everything like it was yesterday, yet it seems like so long ago.
Honestly, I am SO excited to be (mostly) finished so I can go from working on the site to actually blogging. Hooray for completed projects!
