Shop It Like It’s Hot Part 2 // Continuum
Even a cursory glance inside new Vine Street boutique Continuum reveals a range of highly Instagram-able vignettes, from the palm-print wallpaper to the meticulously arranged accessories. Don’t just look at it from outside, though–step in and take a look around, if only to find out where that strange pink glow is coming from.
I popped in one extremely nosy Saturday, and wound up chatting with Continuum owner Ericka Leighton-Spradlin. Predictably, she studied fine arts at DAAP (this is Cincinnati, after all) and wanted to give students a place to sell their work in a retail environment. The shop, which Leighton-Spradlin describes as an eclectic bazaar, carries ethically produced clothing and accessories by independent American designers in addition to small decor items like wall hangings and ceramics. I was drawn to sheer beaded shift dresses by {EM}Reservoir, an embroidered cotton sweatshirt from Conversations in Craft, and Memphis-inspired ceramics by Cincinnati-based ck-tc.
The selection of products is punctuated by very NOW decor, including a back room decorated with cool vintage furniture and a bright pink neon light fixture in the shape of the shop’s logo. For those who like indie fashion, this is the place to glow.
