I know it’s still summer, but every year around this time I start missing my boots and sweaters like they’re old friends I haven’t seen in a while. While browsing for a little cool-weather inspiration on style.com, I came across the ultimate fashion validation: Fall fashion trends that fall right in line with my personal style. Don’t you love when that happens?

Vintage skirt and clutch, Old Navy tee, Rupert Sanderson boots, Lily in Flux necklace, old glasses I had turned into shades
Crappy iPhone pics aside (sorry!), a faux suede wrap skirt in a shade I almost never wear and caramel-hued boots are juuust foxy enough to reference my favorite decade.

I wore it with a satin skirt in the same creamy shade, vintage flower earrings, and caramel colored boots and tried to refrain
Vintage skirt from Portaluca, H&M turtleneck, Jamawar shawl/blarf, Guess boots, Gucci belt
Inspired by the ‘70s vibe on the runways, I added yet another vintage leather pencil skirt to my already gratuitous collection of vintage leather pencil skirts. Paired with a simple black turtleneck, black boots, and gold-accented accessories, this combination has #bossbitch written all over it.

As a thank you for being part of the Fall Contemporary Event, Saks offered us hosts a store credit as a sort of choose-your-own-reward. Awesome, yes, but I couldn’t decide whether to splurge on one high-end blowout piece, or get a few less expensive things that I’d wear more often. After cruising the Contemporary section 347 times and not finding exactly what I was looking for, I headed upstairs--surely everything would be too expensive, but
