Memory Lane: My Hair Journey

 

I was going through my computer, trying to make a dent in the skillion and two gigabytes occupied by image and graphics files when I came across some old pictures. Some funny, slightly embarrassing old pictures. Out of the kindness of my heart, I figured this might be a good time to share a few memories from my Hair Journey, which kind of sounds like something corny a contestant on The Bachelor might say, but I’m gonna call it that anyway.

 

In conclusion, there have been too many pictures of me on the internets for a looong time.

    Hand in hair syndrome is definitely a problem when you hair gets to certain length. Loved the retrospective!

      I know! Whenever I think I’m over it and on the road to keeping my hands OFF, I catch myself twirling a curl or fondling my roots. *sigh*

      Thanks, Fajr! Fotki gave me LIFE when I was transitioning and going natural–before YouTube tutorials, there was Fotki and Nappturality.

    I ABSOLUTELY FREAKIN LOVE IT!!! makes me remember the BIG CHOP too!! Now my hair is getting so long I don’t know what to do with it. Definitely love the hair and please show us how you do some of your styles in your blogs!!

      Yeah, my big chop brings back good memories–it was summer, I was bald, and you couldn’t tell me nothin’!

    Even though I have some serious hair envy with that last photo, my favorite is the braids–your braids were absolutely beautiful! They remind me of how my mother used to wear hers in the 80s before everyone had them. Thanks for sharing!

      I actually really loved those twists–the get-up-and-go aspect can’t be beat! But I get bored easily, so I think I only kept them in for about 5 weeks…

    Don’t you just love looking back at how much the journey has progressed? And Tamia, has anyone told you that you and Marisol of Mama Naturalista look just a like?! That “thankin i was cute” photo is like a splitting image of her.
