Work Style: Gilded

I found this skirt on a thrifting venture a few years ago and was immediately drawn to the gilded paisley print and lacy trim. I imagined wearing it in Moscow, standing in front of Saint Basil’s Cathedral, exhaling puffs of cold air, swathed in a exotic furry hat and muff. Since that particular vision has not yet come to fruition, I figured I’d better think of some other way to wear it.

Pairing it with neutrals and muted shades works, and adding a blazer makes it a bit more work-appropriate. Inspired by this guy (is he fab or what?), I also added a peacock feather on the lapel of the blazer for interest. Our CEO told me I looked like I’d been in a fight with a peacock.  I told him I had. And I’d won.
