Tumblr Tuesday: Popsicle Bars and Messy Abstracts

There has to be some reason I’m not wearing designer clothes and reading the paper while delicately eating a croissant at a cafe in France, I just don’t know WHY; Give me a popsicle bar and some cutoffs ’cause I’m ready for summer; I love the idea of these trompe l’oeil hole-in-the-ground bookshelves; I’ve always been drawn to messy abstracts because I’m pretty sure this is how my thoughts look; This visit from Satan is the one time I’m glad I wasn’t home to sign for a delivery; The combination of colored fur, statement jewels, and winged eyeliner just screams GLAM.

Tumblr Tuesday: Donut Seeds and Lego Hitmen

If only it were this easy to grow my own donut tree; Curling up in a fluffy bed in front of a fire is my personal idea of heaven right now; I feel like these heels-that-don’t-match-a-darn-thing-I-own could be the missing link in my wardrobe; My Lego people never played Pulp Fiction, but MAYBE THEY SHOULD HAVE; I do love a good paisley ascot; Photos of the Champs Elysees always inspire me to sing this little french class tune –completely off key, of course.

Tumblr Tuesday: Big Pillows and Bear Art

This installation (and you have to watch the accompanying video to really see what it is) reminds me how much fun art can be; Nothing makes me happier than a good sky-blazing sunset; Scones with pomegranate clotted cream make a healthy breakfast, right? RIGHT?; I have SO much love for 70s-inspired faux fur and polyester that I wonder if I was born in the wrong decade; Some of my favorite childhood memories involve laying on a huge floor pillow watching cartoons, so it’s nice to see that trend resurfacing; Sometimes art featuring random bear heads and dismembered butterfly wings can be really lovely. Who knew?

As much as I like the idea, I have yet to work up the mojo to wear my open-toed shoes with tights; Finally, a Wheel of Fortune puzzle I can easily solve; I wouldn’t know what to do with this high-tech turntable, but I want it anyway; The fact that this clever teapot-and-mug combo features a pun AND an ’80s icon makes me want to squee; Does it GET any more Fashion Week than leather, fur, Kors, and Hermes?; “Misplacing” my keys for the 397th time made me realize how much I miss having a proper entrance.

Tumblr Tuesday: Rainbow Eyes and Purple Quartz

Multicolored rainbow eye shadow used to be my go-to party look, and I think it’s time to bring it back; If I drove through a tunnel of purple blossoms every morning I might appreciate the commute a bit more; Layering patterns and textures like paisley and lace is one of the best ways to create interest and depth; Sturdy-heeled ankle boots are the perfect antidote to an abbreviated hemline; I’m still not over my obsession with quartz and crystals; This whole purple motif is just an excuse to post (and fawn over) pictures of you-know-who.

The combination of patterns and silhouettes from this clothing line is so appealing; I know my fellow party people know how this one goes; Wallpapering only a portion of the wall seems like a much better idea than trying to cover a whole friggin’ room;I can feel myself slipping into a vacation state of mind and there’s nothing I can do about it; The layers of color and chiffon on this dress are reminiscent of a tattered princess; The artistic version of string theory seems pretty legit.

The intricacy and detailing on this blouse is giving me LIFE; I’ve been seeing the ol’ chandelier-in-a-birdcage trick a lot lately, and I think it’s growing on me; While it’s important to distinguish “mine” and “yours” ice cream spoons, all of the actual ice cream is definitely mine; Sorry to break it to you, but this is what your old friend Teddy Ruxpin’s skull looks like; I love the unusual take on traditional design in this multi-setting ring; Anyone standing on this ornate, gilded balcony is required to flippantly suggest that people eat cake.
