Every year when the temperature dips below 50, I look forward to wearing these pants. I’m not sure why–something about the combination of high-waisted seventies goodness and plush blue velvet intrigues me. Vintage trousers and shoes; Polo boy’s oxford; VS tee; thrifted scarf Is it just me or does the front of my hair bear a strange resemblance to the Chrysler Building here?

Confession: I have never been able to properly pull off a red lip. Pink, purple, burgundy, even orange, I’ve managed to (mostly) master. But red? I just realized how weird it is that I never pay attention to the menswear collections, when it’s well documented just how much I love menswear. That’s gotta change, no? The tailoring makes for an easy crossover, and most of the styling can be applied to women’s RTW–blazers, vests, trousers, and sweaters are all things most women wear anyway.
