My manicure game is confusingly, disappointingly inconsistent. My nails are either long and curved like a prowling cat’s claws, or they’re a keratin graveyard of cracked and broken nubs. It’s not an aversion per se, but I’m not usually one to wear plaid. Sure I have my schoolgirl/Vivienne Westwood wannabe moments, but I usually stick to neutral solids thankyouverymuch.
That all went out the window when I saw these wide-legged trousers in an obnoxiously large check while cruising Zara.com. My new favorite silhouette, neutral cream and navy, PLUS a dramatic print? Why yes, I think I will.

The Fall after I graduated college, I headed to London for a few months to take a class at Central St. Martins. I LOVED the city: the history, the neighborhoods, the accents. And the shopping. The shopping was BEYOND.
