Current Obsession // Bucket Bags

Confession: I’ve been carrying the same (huge) faux ostrich shoulder bag for a few years now. While I love it for its ability to hold a wallet, work files, several pairs of sunglasses, lunch, a camera, a pair of shoes, a snack, a random sock(?), and the 17 lip glosses that always seem to wind up rolling around the bottom of my purse by the end of the week--all while looking fabulous--it’s gotten to be

Shop Around // Topshop x Nordstrom

The Fall after I graduated college, I headed to London for a few months to take a class at Central St. Martins. I LOVED the city: the history, the neighborhoods, the accents. And the shopping. The shopping was BEYOND. One day, while exploring/getting lost (this was pre-GPS), I stumbled upon Oxford Street and my life was forever changed. That bustling stretch of street was host to some of the best shopping I’d ever seen, from Accessorize

Gettin’ Crafty with Gild Collective

Sometimes I scroll through Pinterest and wonder, “Are these people for real?” I mean, I’ve done a DIY project or two, but I stick to the easy stuff. Everyone out there MacGyver-ing their way through high end Ikea hacks is operating on a level to which I’ll never even aspire. So when Thread had the opportunity to partner with Gild Collective, a woman-owned startup that throws Pinterest worthy in-home craft parties, I was interested but cautious.

Work // Libby Lookbook

A few work projects have come to fruition lately, including the Libby Lookbook, photographed by Claudia Hershner, produced and styled by me, and starring some of my favorite local bloggers. One warm summer day, we all headed to Findlay Market and enjoyed a little fun in the sun--in front of the camera, of course. http://issuu.com/thestylesample/docs/libby_summer_15_lookbook You can check out the lookbook online or order a print copy if you’d like to see it in person; and of course

Travel // Lessons Learned, San Juan Edition

If you’re lucky enough to be on or heading to vacation (it is that time of year), I learned a few things during a recent trip to Puerto Rico that I’d like to pass on to you: 1. Itsy bitsy bikinis are fun on the beach. Bikini, Hustler Hollywood 2. Good-smelling, effective, water-resistant sunscreen is a must. See itsy bitsy bikini above. Neutrogena Beach Defense, Walgreens 3. A good shaving cream--one that works on, uh, sensitive areas--is a must.

Style // I Beat the Trend!

I know it’s still summer, but every year around this time I start missing my boots and sweaters like they’re old friends I haven’t seen in a while. While browsing for a little cool-weather inspiration on style.com, I came across the ultimate fashion validation: Fall fashion trends that fall right in line with my personal style. Don’t you love when that happens? I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: gray is the perfect non-color.

Work // Magazines in the Wild!

What seemed like a neverending merry-go-round of scouting and photo shoots has borne fruit! The latest issues of Baby Guide, Cincinnati HOME, and Cincinnati Wedding magazines are out in the wild, which means you should absolutely check them out on newsstands and online. I wrote several pieces for the front-of-book pages of Cincinnati HOME in addition to producing and styling shoots, so take a look and let me know what you think. Speaking of Cincinnati Wedding magazine,
