Zbornak Ztyle

I don't remember the first time I saw an episode of Golden Girls, but I clearly remember sitting on my parents' bed, trying not to laugh at a raunchy joke the sharp-tongued Dorothy Zbornak made at the expense of one Ms. Blanche Devereaux. I stifled the laugh because I knew I wasn't supposed to "get" the joke, but I did. I always got Dorothy's jokes, 'cause she was a smart-ass like me. Since Golden Girls was

Tumblr Tuesday: Hipster Muppets and Blue Elephants

I don't know where this oceanfront villa is, but I know I want to go to there; I love this photo, but my cat looks at me like I'm crazy when I try to pose like that; What's not to love about a hipster muppet that looks like it stepped out of a Fiona Apple video?; Gold-tipped drusy quartz seems sophisticated and just mystical enough; Elephants and flamingos have unexpectedly become two of my favorite

Loaded Gunn

I went to see Tim Gunn speak at Smart Talk Women last night (big thanks to Erin for hooking up the tickets!) and was extremely impressed by how down-to-earth and funny he was as he talked about his books, Project Runway, and all sorts of, um

The Red Skirt Diaries

I'm still working on adding color to my wardrobe, and right now I seem to be obsessed with bright bottoms like this red skirt and those green jeans. I'm pretty proud of myself for (mostly) sticking to my palette! H&M sweater; Forever21 skirt & earrings; Jessica Simpson Boots; eight sixty striped top. Who says I'm not a mallrat? Sometimes I have to laugh at myself, because anyone who's ever taken self-portraits in public knows it can be

Tumblr Tuesday: Coogi Art and Lacy Boots

Coogi art--yes, art made from old Coogi sweaters--seems like a good way to make the most of an, um, unfortunate situation; Mirrored walls always remind me of my childhood home; Lace ankle boots seem delicate and fierce at the same time; I'm slightly obsessed with the way perfume atomizers make even the messiest vanities (ahem, MINE) seem sophisticated; I love that this editorial recalls the days when Linda Evangelista's ever-changing hair color was front page

They Shoot Stylists, Don’t They?

Another day, another photo shoot! These images are from the A-Line shoot I styled for the January issue, with the lovely Sheila Gray as the model. You'd never know she has a teenage daughter--she came out of the dressing room in jeans and socks and looked like a teenager herself! Snappin' away at The American Can Factory The photographer for the shoot was Gina of Kiwi Street Studios, one of those multi-talented creative types who does it

Ms. Green Jeans

I've wanted a pair of bright green pants forever, and the after-Christmas sales seemed like just the time to buy a pair. Gap pants; Alexander Wang blazer; Old Navy tee; vintage necklace; DKNY heels Why green in particular? No idea, except that I like the way the color pops in a not-so-in-your-face way (as compared to, say, red) when paired with black and white. Hey, at least they're not gray!

Tumblr Tuesday: Silver Slides and Frosty Ballerinas

Wearing a big knit bow around one's neck isn't usually a good idea, but there are always exceptions; The multi-level slide at the Margiela store in Beijing is one of my childhood dreams come true; I recently lost ALL of my keys ('cause I'm a genius like that) so this cloud key magnet would come in handy in the future; An airy room with a balcony in Barcelona seems like the perfect place to be
